The Covid-19 pandemic has been a worrying time for many; whether that be due to health concerns, business halting, or even just due to the unfamiliar territories of lockdown potentially effecting your mental health. Although majority of business’ have struggled due to the lockdown, there have been some companies that have benefitted from the current climate – and none more than streaming services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime.

Due to the lack of ways of entertaining yourself because of the lockdown restrictions set by the Government back in March, consumers have had to find ways of entertaining themselves in house. One of the easiest ways of doing this have been through the subscription streaming services. The ease of access and the amount of content you are receiving for such a small monthly fee has been very appetising for consumers looking to pass time at home.
Netflix especially, during the height of the lockdown reported an added 4.6 million new customers to their service which obviously showed how beneficial the lockdown has been for the media giants. The content that Netflix provides also is something that we believe is unmatched against its competitors due to the ever changing landscape that it provides whether that be the classics like Prison Break, Breaking Bad and Stranger Things or the Netflix Originals which are starting to be one of their more popular watched shows.
Now Amazon Prime haven’t released figures on their customer intake during the lockdown like Netflix has; but we believe that they would be seeing similar increases in customers. Although the content might not match that of Netflix, Amazon is the largest company in the world and another company not affected by the pandemic due to it being an Ecommerce marketplace. Due to this, the traffic received through their main website would drive consumers to their streaming service as part of the Prime package.
Another industry that has also not just survived the pandemic but actually benefitted from it is online casinos. Another easy access form of entertainment that can be accessed from the comfort of your own home, online casinos have seen an influx of new customers, especially those at Crazy Star at Maximum Casinos which have been receiving unfathomable numbers on their roulette tables, slots and card tables.
The reason of the surge in numbers there is down to their new customer offers and huge deposit matches as standard and they review Crazy Star here; something that shouldn’t be missed out on.
