Often there is not much space available for the children’s room in the apartment. However, if the room of the little ones also shows up as quite small, this does not at all mean that this could not be designed child-friendly, loving and appealing.
A secure and inviting atmosphere can be created, for example, by great Nursery wall sticker for wall decoration. What ideas and tips should also be considered to create a true paradise for the offspring in any nursery, explains the following article.
The basic requirements for a child-friendly room
Of course, the needs of children always depend on their age. Thus, rooms for babies are naturally to be furnished differently than those for young children or schoolchildren. In the course of time, the furnishings should be adapted to the changing requirements from time to time.
In general, however, children’s rooms can always be divided into three rough areas. These consist of a place for playing, a place for resting and sleeping, and a place for grooming and clothing.
In addition, there are some criteria that are particularly important when furnishing a child’s room. These are manifested, among other things, in the highest possible clarity and functionality. It is also important that the little ones have enough space to move around and play to their hearts’ content.
Basics of the children’s room furnishing according to Montessori
Many parents resort to the Montessori teachings when furnishing the room for their offspring. This is based on the assumption that the world must be explored by children independently, so that they learn on their own initiative how things work and function.
To this end, parents must create a so-called “prepared environment. This requires, for example, that the children’s room has no obstacles or furniture that is too high for the little ones. The furnishings must be adapted to the child’s current size so that he or she can find all objects freely accessible on his or her own. A particularly calm atmosphere is supported if light wood and the color white are used for the furnishings.
In addition, care should be taken that the free areas in the room are not overloaded with toys. The solution of assigning a fixed place to the selected toys and replacing them with new toys at regular intervals proves to be much better.
Especially important: The quiet zone in the children’s room
Especially if the children’s room turns out not to be too big, the issue of storage space should not be neglected when decorating the room. A great way to create a child-friendly quiet zone, but at the same time provide additional storage space, is to build a bed, which consists of shelves.
This then offers a lot of valuable storage space underneath the mattress. This can be used to store items of clothing that are not worn during the current season, for example, so that there is considerably more space available in the closet.
The rest area should then be furnished in a cuddly and cozy way, so that it represents a highly valued and safe retreat for the offspring. In this can then be looked at books, busy with toys or just sleep.
